Pekidah

The Ramchal lists a few different actions that occur during the time of Pekidah.

  • The rising of the Shechinah from the dirt of Galus - The dirt is a metaphor for the klipot. At this time, the Shechinah gains the light of rulership, but it is only revealed outward at the time of Zechirah.
  • The first Zivug between the Tsaddik and the Shechinah
  • The fixing of Hester Panim - as discussed in the previous posts. This repair is partial, and is not easily viewed from the outside. Only a discerning eye (or perhaps one with 20/20 hindsight) can see this. Also, this fix is temporary, until the time of Zechirah.
  • The light of the Pekidah causes a desire in Am Yisrael to do Teshuvah. The Ramchal writes that this is the purpose of the Pekidah.
  • The going out of the imprisoned souls
  • The Yechidah (the highest level of soul) is built for Moshiach

Following the Pekidah is a time of darkness, a weakness after the light of the Pekidah is withdrawn.

  1. Is it possible that the period of darkness began with the expulsion from Gush Katif?

  2. The period of darkness started decades ago.

  3. There's such a large gap between Pekida and Zechira?

  4. Indeed there is. We've got a bit more to go.

  5. thats not the mindset of out prayers in shmonei esrah. MeHera Tazmiach! Mehera Bsocha Tachin! B'Karov B'Yameainu! V'techezena Einanu!

We are referring to teachings in Kabbalah which teach differently, namely Zohar Vayera 119.

  7. Particularly, that teaching comes directly from the Rashbi. If you would like to come to Eretz Yisrael and discuss the matter with him in Meiron, feel free.

  8. please dont suggest the Rashbi was interested in your "setting a date in the future" mindset that you unfortunately offer here.

  9. Are you denying that the Zohar computes dates based on sefer Daniel?

  10. May HaShem bless you. May he reveal his countenance to you. May you merit a life filled with Kedushah, closeness to HaShem, love of His Creation, health, good Parnassa, and success in Limud HaTorah.

  11. there is a monumental difference between studying the projected dates based on psukim and a mindset that ONLY espouses these dates and confidently opines ONLY this path toward redemption which is in stark contrast with our most basic mesorah that Moshiach can be revealed at any moment as a true reality (despite the harsh and misplaced 'judgments' of this blog.) May you and yours also be blessed , kol hamivorech misbereach - that you do not lead any Jews astray or increase the pain of Golus by projecting the extension of its duration.

  12. The only path to redemption? That conclusion is clearly your own. Check the earlier posts. If we return to HaShem, do Teshuva, Moshiach can be revealed any moment. This blog increases the pain of Golus? How? By calling upon people to leave the physical Golus? May HaShem grant you Shalom.

  13. Who sketches the path of Geula and projects that we are not there just yet, tends to meet opposition by good Jews who wish to project Moshiach now, this year, this month, today, who wish to sooth their pain of Golus, and who find themselves pained by the thought that the end might not be here just yet.

Learn from phycial pain. Pain may be good. It prevents one from making things worse. It may teach one how to make things better. Conversely, soothed pain may block the best course of action. May your wisdom increase.

  14. To the Anonymous poster:

Sorry for the delay, I was making a Tikkun for being in New Jersey last year for Shushan Purim, namely Teaneck and Hackensack. The evening of Shushan Purim I left Eretz Yisrael because my brother went in to cardiac arrest Purim morning, and was hospitalized for 7 days before being niftar. Leaving when I did made me patur from Purim altogether.

Moshe is correct. I do not espouse any sort of attitude that Teshuvah cannot bring Moshiach now. Read all the posts marked as important posts on the right column of this blog. However, Teshuvah not being done, the Torah, Gemara, Daniel, the Zohar, all come to teach the mechanics of time, and as a result, show us when Moshiach will come if we don't do Teshuvah in time. The details of these mechanics, that is assur to publicize. It is not assur, however, to publicize their text. And G-d willing, I will do so in the near future.
